Depending on the type of loan you want, Conventional vs. VA vs. FHA, you must have a valid work visa, and obtain an exception that allows you to work in the USA for at least the first three years of the loan in question. If you are applying for a jumbo loan, you must show three years of past employment history in addition to the exception that allows you to work in the US for the first three years of the loan in question.
