(Land Home) teamed up with the City of Oakland to offer The Mortgage Assistance Program (MAP), the city’s newest community loan program assisting low and moderate-income first-time homebuyers with the purchase of homes in the City of Oakland.

MAP provides direct assistance with the downpayment requirement on first mortgages, bridging the gap between household affordability and the purchase price of the desired property. To be eligible for MAP:

Applicant and their spouse must be a first-time homebuyer

Annual household income cannot exceed 120% of the Area Median Income (AMI)

Must live, work, or go to school in the City of Oakland

Subject property must be in the City of Oakland

Applicant must contribute at least 3% of the purchase price towards the downpayment or closing costs
